Actually it’s been proven that doorways and doors act as “event erasers”- no, seriously! Your brain calculates that it is in a new environment and thus new commands, and wipes whatever was happening in that old environment because you’re not there anymore.
One way to defeat it is to shout whatever you’re going to do in the next room while you’re crossing under the doorway.
